My name is Katie Humphreys, and I have been riding for about 20 years. I have had a love of horses since I was young. It started with a few trail rides on vacation, and I eventually convinced my parents that I needed lessons. I am an Equine Studies major from the University of Findlay, and I have ridden a variety of disciplines, from English, Western, Civil War cavalry, and have even worked training horses to joust. My boyfriend got me into drill about 9 years ago, and I have ridden on several teams. The skills I have learned have also helped me manage and train our mounted Civil War brass band. My current mount is Hunter, my 15 hand palomino Quarter Horse. He’ll do anything you ask (except cross water!), and he is one of my best beginner horses. When we are not drilling, we do a lot of Civil War cavalry reenactment.
